Streaking Blackhawks Win Another One, 3-2
|
The Chicago Blackhawks picked up a win at Cutter's Cove, knocking off the Denver Cutthroats, 3-2. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Nick Hafer, who played a pivotal role in the win. Hafer went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-3. Ruben Wirtz earned the save for Chicago, his 11th.
Dave Kowal, the 28-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kowal contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Chicago up, 3-1.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Kowal said.
The slumping Cutthroats have lost 8 straight.
