In a low-scoring affair between the Atlanta Pilots and the Los Angeles Knights, pitcher Harrie van Krimpen was the difference between victory and defeat. The Atlanta left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Pilots win. van Krimpen got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. van Krimpen allowed 2 runs. Bob Copping picked up the save for Atlanta, his 4th of the year.

Zach Rentz had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Atlanta. He came through with a run-scoring double to put Atlanta in front, 3-0.

"We found a way to get it done," Rentz said.

The Pilots lead the East Division by 2½ games.
