Shamrocks Inch Closer to .500 With 5-1 Win
|
Boston rode a good effort from starter Bobby Brown to beat the St. Louis Lions at The Lions Hearth. The final score was 5-1. Brown, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The current losing streak for St. Louis has reached 5 games.
Boston used the bat of D.J. Murphy to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Shamrocks ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Nice win for us," said Murphy. "Now we'll go after the next one."
