Warriors Lose to Cutthroats, 3-2
|
A good time was had by all at Cutter's Cove, where the Washington Warriors and Denver Cutthroats tangled.
In a low-scoring affair between the Denver Cutthroats and the Washington Warriors, pitcher Nate Kelley was the difference between victory and defeat. The Denver right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Cutthroats win. Kelley got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Kelley allowed 2 runs. Harry Parker recorded the save for Denver, his 3rd of the season.
Chris Oldfield chipped in for Denver with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Nate was able to execute his pitches," said Denver manager Joe Peters. "Simple as that."
Their 12-14 record puts the Cutthroats 4th in the West Division.
