Done Deal: Ennis for McDowell Wednesday, September 4th , 2002 After prolonged negotiations Southern California agreed to ship 34-year old 3B John Ennis to Newark for 24-year old LF Pat McDowell. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen." This year Ennis has hit at a .256 pace and produced 44 RBIs, 11 home runs and scored 26 runs. |
