Carreras Nabs PBC Hitter of the Year Award Tuesday, October 15th , 2002 Tony Carreras has been around Professional Baseball Circuit enough to know a good hot streak when he sees one -- and he got to see one firsthand all year. For his standout run through the 2002 season, he's taking home the Hitter of the Year Award in the Professional Baseball Circuit. The Houston right fielder put up a batting average of .352 with 23 doubles, 2 triples, 34 home runs and 82 RBIs. Willie Zamora of the Boston Shamrocks finished second in voting, while Dustin Denmark of the Washington Warriors finished third. |
