How Sweep it Is! Houston Wins Pro Circuit Cup Sunday, October 13th , 2002 The Houston Mavericks rolled over the St. Louis Lions 6-0 at The Lions Hearth to easily win the 2002 Pro Circuit Cup crown. Houston won in a walk and swept the series from the Lions 4-0. It was their 1st championship title. Winning manager Kevin Read praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Lions "a fine team." "It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the Pro Circuit Cup."
