Ortiz Tosses 6-0 Shutout Against St. Louis Sunday, October 13th , 2002 In an outstanding mound performance, Houston Mavericks starter Jose Ortiz fired a complete-game shutout against the St. Louis Lions at The Lions Hearth today. Ortiz was the key to the Mavericks's 6-0 win. The 31-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and 3 walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
