Winston Brilliant, Blanks Texans Saturday, September 21st , 2002 Before the game, Pat Winston said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark, the Cutthroats pitcher blanked the Dallas Texans 4-0. "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Winston said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my forkball even when I was behind in the count." The Denver starter held Dallas scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 14 strikeouts and issuing 3 walks. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," Texans manager Nigel Laverick said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
