Conroy Puts Spell on Chicago Friday, August 16th , 2002 The bats were ice cold today for the Chicago Blackhawks at Trident Field. Detroit Motors starter Sam Conroy kept the Blackhawks cold all day, shutting them out in a 4-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 30-year-old hurler allowed 5 hits while striking out 10 and walking 0. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Conroy admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
