Denver got a terrific game from left fielder Zach Rentz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Los Angeles, 5-4. Rentz was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Los Angeles reliever Scott Lovely got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Simon Thornley was tagged with the loss. Miguel Moreno closed the game out for Los Angeles, earning his 2nd save.

Los Angeles relied on the hitting of Josh Cassidy to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Knights on top, 5-4. For the game, Cassidy had 1 home run and 1 single in 2 at-bats.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Cassidy.

The Cutthroats are now 6-9.
