Almost There: Winnipeg On Cusp of Semi-Pro Circuit Cup Triumph After 6-5 Win
Riding the 2-hit performance of left fielder Giichiro Oka, the Winnipeg Goldeyes stopped the visiting Newark Eagles, 6-5, in Game 4 of the Semi-Pro Circuit Cup today. Oka went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times for the Goldeyes, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.

In the bottom of the first, Winnipeg second baseman Blake Kloss had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Kloss stroked a bases-clearing double to center. It made the score 3-0, Winnipeg. For the game, he went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.

"Just to be up on this stage at all is crazy," Kloss said. "I'm just trying to keep up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Goldeyes Park in Winnipeg.
