Martinez, Goldeyes Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
The Winnipeg Goldeyes hold an early advantage in the Semi-Pro Circuit Cup, thanks to the "old man" of the franchise, Jose Martinez.

Martinez, 36, was in control at Goldeyes Park today, leading the Goldeyes to victory, 4-3, over the Newark Eagles in Game 3. Martinez threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Winnipeg now holds a 2-1 edge in the best-of-7 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Winnipeg shortstop Jason Miller, facing Sid Brumbley, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Goldeyes the 4-3 win.

Martinez described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Goldeyes Park in Winnipeg.
