Lions Hammered by Carreras, Fall Further Behind in PCC
Riding the 2-hit performance of right fielder Tony Carreras, the Houston Mavericks got a road win against the St. Louis Lions, 8-3, in Game 3 of the Pro Circuit Cup today. Carreras went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Mavericks, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.

Houston relied on the hitting of Dave Kershner to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mavericks on top, 3-2. For the game, Kershner had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Kershner.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
