Lions Even With Blackhawks After Extra-Innings Win
The St. Louis Lions and the Chicago Blackhawks will take the Cup Qualifier to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation at Trident Field today, the Lions beat the Blackhawks 4-1 in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. St. Louis first baseman Paul Oldham was 5 for 5 with a double, 4 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Oldham delivered big-time for St. Louis, stroking a dramatic bases-clearing double off Mike Kirkland. The game-changing hit put the Lions on top, 4-1.

"We lost," Chicago manager Seth Butynski said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
