Steelheads Pull Off Thrilling 8-7 Win in Extras
Fans who congregated at Fleetwings Ballpark were treated to extra-inning drama.

In a tight contest at Fleetwings Ballpark, the Vacaville Steelheads edged the Allentown Fleetwings by the score of 8-7. Vacaville left fielder Matt Wojt, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Vacaville reliever Jadon Pruitt was the winner. His record is now 3-6. The losing pitcher was Pete Mellema.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop T.J. Cipriani came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Allentown pitcher Pete Mellema, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Vacaville on top, 8-7.

"Big team win," Wojt said later.

The 4th-place Steelheads have a record of 46-42.
