Empires Reel Off Another Win
The Southern California Empires took Calgary pitcher Josh Randle's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Caracals Stadium. The final score had Southern California getting past the Caracals, 6-4. Randle went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 1. Byron Wilbanks earned his 7th save in 9 tries. Southern California used the clutch hitting of Dennis Laulainen to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Empires the lead, 6-4. For the game, Laulainen had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
