Starting pitcher Jose Martinez was a major factor in the 4-2 Winnipeg Goldeyes triumph over the Calgary Caracals. Justin Pike recorded the save, his 4th. Winnipeg is now 48-35. Calgary is 48-35.

Tommy Tyner went 1 for 3 for Winnipeg. The 31-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Henry Gonzales. It was his 28th RBI of the season.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Martinez told the Winnipeg Observer.
