Eagles Get Past Hamilton for 3-2 Win
|
Newark Eagles starter Aaron Cox was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Hamilton Tigers, 3-2. Newark reliever Eli Layne picked up the win to move to 8-2. William Conant suffered the loss. The first-place Eagles have won 4 straight.
In the bottom of the ninth, Dave Fisher came to bat with the game in the balance. And he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single off Hamilton pitcher William Conant.
Fisher attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
