The 2002 season is getting uglier for Albany.

Calgary starter Nick McCluskey put a stranglehold on the Albany offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Caracals to a 5-1 win. McCluskey went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-5.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dave Ponte? The Calgary third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Caracals on top, 3-0. For the game, Ponte had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"The vibe's good," said Calgary manager Jayden Sabin. "We've got to keep it going."
