Allentown got a terrific performance from pitcher Bill Ross, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hamilton Tigers. Hamilton won the Hamilton Park contest, 2-1. Ross threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Hamilton has now won 4 straight.
Hamilton took a 2-1 lead on Mike Dodds's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Allentown pitcher Pete Mellema in the bottom of the eighth.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Hamilton manager Tom Kern.
