The Newark Eagles overcame a good performance by Allentown right fielder Caleb Kari to knock off Allentown, 3-1, at Fleetwings Ballpark. Kari was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. The Eagles own a robust 40-17 mark.
Newark used a well-timed hit by Aaron Henke to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Henke.
