Saskatoon right fielder Ron Medlen had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Medlen slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Newark beat the Moose, 7-5. The Eagles improved to a lofty 38-16.

The Eagles got a big at-bat from shortstop Dave Fisher. For the game, Fisher went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Newark a 6-5 lead.

Fisher told the Newark Today: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
