The Calgary Caracals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Josh Randle, who muffled the Ottawa offense en route to a tight 2-0 Caracals win at Caracals Stadium. The first-place Caracals have a one-game lead in their division.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Ray Foster came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ottawa pitcher Jonathon Kays, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Calgary on top, 1-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Calgary manager Jayden Sabin.
