Fales Lifts Capitals to 9-8 Triumph
Good production from first baseman Eric Fales helped the Ottawa Capitals topple the Calgary Caracals, 9-8. Fales went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5 for the Capitals. The last-place Capitals improved to 20-33.

Ottawa took a 9-8 lead on Jordan Hayes's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hayes hit in the top of the ninth, left Calgary pitcher Brent Farwell visibly frustrated.

"We ground out the win," said Hayes. "That's all that matters."
