Dixon Excels, But Eagles Win
The inspired effort of Southern California left fielder Isaiah Dixon was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-4, to the Newark Eagles. Dixon was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Newark has an impressive 36-15 record.

In the bottom of the seventh, Newark first baseman Juan Sierra hit a 2-run single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 6-4, Eagles.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Newark manager Steve LaPorte.
