Starting pitcher Flinn Mitchell took care of business, helping the Allentown Fleetwings stifle the Calgary Caracals, 5-2. Mitchell, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. Allentown has now won 5 games in a row.
The Fleetwings got a big at-bat from third baseman Mike Reed. For the game, Reed was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Allentown a 3-1 lead.
Despite the victory, Mitchell was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
