Calgary Makes It 11 Straight, Barely
|
The Caracals grabbed a win, 3-2, at Empires Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Southern California pitcher Aidan Kelly. Kelly went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. David Nunez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The wins continue to add up for Calgary, with the latest making it 11 in a row.
Calgary needed the clutch hitting of Kazuya Tsukamoto to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Caracals on top, 3-2. For the game, Tsukamoto had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"The clubhouse vibe is great," said Calgary manager Jayden Sabin.
