The Vacaville Steelheads picked up a win at Ballpark of Vacaville, knocking off the Allentown Fleetwings, 5-4. Starting pitcher Cory Johnson played a key role in the triumph. The win belongs to Steve Turnbull in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Pete Mellema took the loss for Allentown. The Fleetwings, now 13-28, have lost 4 straight.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Vacaville trailing 4-3, Chad Uecker jumped on a 2-1 fastball from Pete Mellema for a 2-run home run, sending the Steelheads to a walk-off win.
