Newark Eagles starter Aaron Cox was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Hamilton Tigers, 4-1. Cox picked up the win for Newark, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Nate Draper nailed down his 4th save.
Newark used a well-timed hit by Aaron Henke to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Cox.
Newark now has a 3-game win streak.
