Eagles Rally to Eke Out Win
Fans who congregated at Eagles Park were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Quebec City Blues got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel Valerio, but the Newark Eagles still won the game, 2-1. Valerio threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Newark reliever Carlos Rojas picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Ricardo Baez took the loss.

The Eagles procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Aaron Henke. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Newark manager Steve LaPorte. "Our pregame was pretty good."

The win for the Eagles lifted their record to 24-9.
