Tigers Take Down Fleetwings, 5-4
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Fleetwings Ballpark.
The Hamilton Tigers topped the Allentown Fleetwings, 5-4, with left fielder Sal de Santiago playing a big role. de Santiago went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for the Tigers in the win. Hamilton pitcher William Conant got the win, upping his record to 4-1. Asa Kellogg got the loss.
Hamilton used a clutch hit from Beau Beadle to get the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said de Santiago.
Hamilton has 3 straight wins, Allentown 4 straight losses.
