Cuff Excels, But Caracals Win
|
Kerry Cuff did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Edmonton Drillers from losing, 8-7, to the Calgary Caracals at Caracals Stadium. Cuff was 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Nick McCluskey earned the save for Calgary, his 1st of the year. Calgary has now won 3 in a row.
Jonathan Marquez, who is tied for 10th in the in triples with 1, contributed to the Calgary win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
