Eagles Beat Fleetwings, 9-5
|
The Newark Eagles grabbed a win, 9-5, over the Allentown Fleetwings at Eagles Park. Newark pinch hitter Juan Sierra was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Fleetwings, now 5-9, continue their inauspicious start.
Sierra had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Manny Villasana, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Eagles a 9-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Sierra.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Sierra.
