McClurkin goes 4-for-5 to Pull Capitals to .500
Getting offensive support from Mike McClurkin, the Ottawa Capitals topped the Allentown Fleetwings, 12-8. McClurkin was 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3 for the Capitals. Ottawa reliever Ryan Robinson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rob Serrano was saddled with the loss. The loss drops the Fleetwings to 1-1.

Ottawa used the timely hitting of Norimoto Kayano to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Capitals on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We maximized our offense today," said Ottawa skipper Mike House. "That makes everyone's life easier."
