Mavericks Come Back Late, Nip Shamrocks
The Houston Mavericks bested the Boston Shamrocks by a score of 6-5, with right fielder Tony Carreras getting the main credit. On the day, Carreras went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Mavericks. Sam Jacobs picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-3. He struck out 1 in 7 innings. The victory gives the Mavericks a record of 20-17.

Houston used a clutch hit from Freddy Aguilar to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mavericks ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
