The game between St. Louis and Chicago is in the books, despite a little rain.
The St. Louis Lions saddled the Chicago Blackhawks with a loss at Trident Field. The final score was 6-5. Mike Bowman was 3 for 5, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The St. Louis left fielder scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Zack Doyle nailed down his 4th save.
Bowman had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Dave Kaminski, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Lions a 6-5 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Bowman.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Bowman told the St. Louis Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
The Lions bumped their record to 20-17 with this win.
