Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Francisco Peanuts and Los Angeles Knights.
The exploits of right fielder Oscar Alvarenga, who signed a 2-year contract worth $1,680,000 on 02/01/2002, helped the San Francisco Peanuts defeat the Los Angeles Knights, 4-2. Alvarenga was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Nate Kelley earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 5-1.
