Shamrocks Come Up Short at Washington, 3-2
|
Washington and Boston duked it out and the Warriors came out victorious.
Washington Warriors starter Jason Gagliardi pitched his team past the Boston Shamrocks, 3-2. Gagliardi went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-2. Earning his 5th save for Washington was Cory Ionescu.
Dave Rodriguez, who finished 3rd in the PBC in batting average with .325 in 2000, aided the Washington cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.
Rodriguez said his team "played with focus."
The Shamrocks, now 12-11, have lost 5 straight.
