Columbus's Condition Worse, Suffers Another Setback Monday, October 15th , 2001 All is not well with Josh Columbus in his recovery from a torn labrum. The 26-year-old Mavericks starting pitcher has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Columbus and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday. "Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it." A post-workout examination revealed that Columbus had re-injured himself and would now miss at least 12 months because of it. Josh Columbus is expected to undergo surgery in Houston(Texas) tomorrow. Lifetime Columbus has a 6-7 won-lost record. His career ERA is 3.56. |
