PBC Gives Best Pitcher Award Sunday, October 14th , 2001 The Professional Baseball Circuit announced today that Sam Conroy has been chosen the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for 2001. The Detroit hurler had everything working for him as he cruised to an outstanding 8-4 record. Conroy put up an impressive 1.97 ERA in his award-winning season. He started 22 times, worked 127.2 innings, yielded 94 hits, walked 37, fanned 150 and held opposing hitters to a .207 average. Brad Kuhlman of the St. Louis Lions finished second in voting, while Nick Hafer of the Chicago Blackhawks finished third. |
