Motors Blank Texans, Aguilar Wins Friday, October 12th , 2001 The Dallas Texans had no answer today for Detroit Motors pitcher Javier Aguilar. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 7-0. Dallas managed only 2 hits off Aguilar, who had 6 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Aguilar got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Motors fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible." Aguilar has made 22 starts so far this year and put up a 6-8 won-lost record with a 4.51 ERA. In 113.2 innings he has allowed 134 hits, walked 24 and struck out 97.
