Velasquez Goes on Rampage Against Knights Sunday, September 23rd , 2001 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Juan Velasquez today. Velasquez went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Los Angeles pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Lions Field, he had a 5-for-9 line and a day he will long remember. And the St. Louis Lions had a 7-6 victory over the Knights. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Juan Velasquez hit a two-run double in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, singled in the 16th and grounded out in the 18th.
