Copping Skunks New York City, 2-0 Sunday, September 16th , 2001 The New York City Blues struggled at the plate today against Shamrocks hurler Bob Copping, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 2-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Blues skipper Bob Matz in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Copping finished the game with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Boston manager Chris Ragan said. "Bob made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively." So far in 20 appearances this season, Copping has recorded 8 wins and sustained 7 losses.
