The Philadelphia Keystones topped the Boston Shamrocks, 5-2, with catcher David Quezada playing a big role. Quezada went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Keystones in the win. Matthew Steele was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Philadelphia is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 16 games.
Philadelphia got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Matt Westfall. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Keystones ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.
Westfall attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
