Washington Gets 3-2 Win
|
Washington rode a fine outing from starter John Braine to victory over the Dallas Texans at Texans Park. The final score was 3-2. Braine, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 6, and allowing 2 runs. David Haraway was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Jeff Franco, who is tied for 3rd in the PBC with a .636 slugging percentage, aided the Washington cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We were in it," said Dallas manager Nigel Laverick. "We just didn't score enough runs."
Dallas drops to 6-8.
