New York City and Houston duked it out and the Blues came out victorious.

New York City pitcher Antonio Maytorena did his part in helping his team beat the Houston Mavericks, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Luis Perez, credited with the save, is now 19 for 20 in save opportunities.

It could have been a different outcome for New York City, had it not been for Esteban Villagomez, the 30-year old center fielder . Villagomez contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the fourth inning to put New York City up, 4-1.

Villagomez told a New York City Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

With the win over Houston, the Blues improved to 37-38.
