Shamrocks Prevail, 3-1, Over Houston
|
Chris Nester was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Boston and Houston. The Shamrocks right-hander helped his team beat the Mavericks, 3-1. Willie Cantu nailed down his 21st save. The Shamrocks now have a record of 34-38 with the win over Houston.
Boston took a 2-1 lead on Ryan Markey's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Markey hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Houston pitcher Dustin Clark visibly frustrated.
Markey said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
