In a low-scoring clash between New York City and Los Angeles, pitcher Antonio Maytorena was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. The save went to Luis Perez, his 17th this season. At 35-36, the Blues claim 4th place in the East Division.
New York City took a 3-2 lead on Steve Contreras's 20th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Antonio Perez in the bottom of the eighth.
"Nice win for us," said Maytorena. "Now we'll go after the next one."
