Houston took on Boston in front of a lively crowd.
The Houston Mavericks handed the Boston Shamrocks a loss at Shamrocks Ballpark. The final score was 9-1. Major production was provided by Dave Kershner for Houston. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. He also added 1 walk. Houston starter Brian DeGrasse was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 7 innings. The outcome might have been different for Houston, had it not been for Freddy Aguilar, the 25-year old right fielder . Aguilar stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Houston up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
